What you’ll do:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Procurement Services team to manage all aspects of the Santos Information Systems (IS) procurement category in support of the company’s onshore & offshore operating division assets and Santos corporate program.

Reporting to the Team Leader (Procurement) Corporate and Cross Business, the Procurement Category Lead is accountable for leading and managing the IS category (circa $200M) for all Santos corporate and onshore & offshore operating division procurement needs.

Accountabilities are delivered in line with the Santos company values and Santos Management System (SMS). 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Delivering end to end contracting and procurement in support of corporate, Australian and international assets for the IS category
  • Working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to ensure needs are understood and supply chain strategies aligned
  • Ensuring development and execution of sourcing strategies and category plans to achieve lowest total cost outcomes whilst accommodating delivery of scope growth
  • Identifying and supporting delivery of integrated supply chain solutions encompassing requisition to pay, logistics and materials management
  • Building and maintaining business relationships with key suppliers for assigned category
  • Managing supplier performance within category to ensure optimum cost, quality, and safe delivery in support of IS projects
  • Leading and contributing to high level and complex negotiations
  • Ensuring contracts within the category are maintained to high standard and adequately administered including ACV, term, bank guarantees, variations and claims
  • Complying with Supply Chain Standards ensuring requirements are complied with or modified as required
  • Ensuring all sourcing and contracting activities comply with JV Agreements

What You’ll bring

The successful candidate will be tertiary/degree qualified with demonstrable relevant work experience in Procurement along with a sound understanding of Category Management and/or Strategic Sourcing. Your excellent interpersonal and influencing skills are critical to the role and ensure the development of effective relationships across a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.

A proactive approach, desire and ability to achieve exceptional results are essential to success in this position along with previous experience in oil and gas or similar industries.
