What You’ll do
In this influential position, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that strengthen Santos’ competitive advantage. Working across major projects and high value procurement activities, you’ll deliver end to end contracting outcomes that support growth, supply security and cost optimisation—while upholding Santos’ safety and governance standards.
You will apply expert procurement capability, deep industry knowledge and outstanding stakeholder engagement to ensure sustained value for the business, alternatively your project management skills would be highly regarded.
- Lead sourcing and contract management activities for assigned procurement categories across all assets.
- Manage end-to-end procurement requirements for assigned category contract portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, ensuring growth, supply security, and compliance with safety and social license requirements.
- Identify and implement category improvement initiatives to achieve optimal cost savings and sustainability.
- Lead and coach negotiation teams to ensure successful and unified negotiation outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a secure supply chain and cost-effective sourcing.
- Proactively seek and support procurement efficiency opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Santos’ Management System (SMS), Delegation of Authority (DOA), corporate governance, and safety policies.
- Promote and maintain high health and safety standards across procurement activities.
What you’ll bring
• experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and/or Category Management in the Field Civil and Construction categories
• Previous experience in oil & gas or a similar heavy industrial environment.
• Experience developing and presenting procurement and category strategies.
• Exposure to major capital equipment procurement and international sourcing.
• Experience in upstream onshore brownfield/greenfield development projects.
• Category knowledge across: well site skid fabrication, HDPE pipes/fittings, cables, instrumentation, flex hoses, pressure safety valves, pumps, variable drives.
• Understanding of OEM and aftermarket supply channels.
• Strong commercial acumen with expertise in negotiation, contractual terms and supplier relationship management.
