Position Overview:

As a Procurement Manager, you will play a vital role in optimizing our supply chain operations and ensuring the procurement process is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with our organizational objectives. Working closely with various stakeholders, you will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, and vendor performance evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the utilities sector, with a proven track record of driving value, managing supplier relationships, and implementing best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

– Develop and implement procurement strategies to support business objectives and drive cost savings.

– Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

– Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favourable agreements and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.

– Collaborate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and provide guidance on best practices and procurement processes.

– Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

– Continuously assess market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

– Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, internal departments, and senior management, to foster collaboration and alignment.

 

Qualifications:

– Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on the utilities sector.

– Proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.

– Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

– Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.

– Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the utilities industry.

– Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is desirable.

– Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are a plus.
