As a Category Buyer, you will lead sourcing activities within a defined categories and projects, driving supplier performance and cost optimization. You will support strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with category plans and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Management: Own and manage assigned spend categories, developing and executing sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Supplier Selection & Contracting: Lead supplier selection processes, negotiate commercial terms, and manage contract creation, execution, and compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, align procurement strategies, and ensure category plans support operational goals.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring performance, innovation, and value delivery.
- Performance Monitoring: Conduct quarterly business reviews with strategic suppliers to assess performance, address issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform sourcing decisions and ensure competitiveness.
- Cost Management: Drive cost savings and value creation initiatives through effective negotiation and supplier collaboration.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, managing risks within the supply base.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role, you should have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business.
- MCIPS accreditation or working towards.
- Strong experience in sourcing or commodity management.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Travel:
- Travel both domestically and internationally may be required.
