JOB SUMMARY

The Nabors Assets & Maintenance “NAM” Product Line Manager is responsible for all non-ERP asset and maintenance related applications. The role has a significant opportunity to impact change from both an operational as well as financial perspective and accordingly will have high visibility to senior leadership as well as an opportunity to drive strategic change through innovation and strategic enhancements.

The individual must be first are foremost a team player who is eager to learn and collaborate within the department, with various levels of business stakeholders from senior executives to field technicians and analysts.

Through a detailed and thorough understanding of the various lines of business at Nabors (both domestic and international), this person will be required to partner with various business stakeholders to understand the needs and overall business objectives of the organization and how their application portfolio can support the mission of the organization. To meet the needs and objectives of the business, this person will be required to gather requirements (individually and through their team), prioritize, and organize delivery to production on a regular basis.

The candidate should be willing and able to solve tactical problems on a daily basis, but should likewise steward the portfolio with a continuous improvement mentality.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership on portfolio adoption by understanding the business process, their needs, and challenges.
  • Must display and maintain a collaborative and growth mindset… a desire to learn from and collaborate with team members at all levels, across domains, and across departments
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize system enhancements
  • Establish execution and delivery plan for identified enhancements and bugs with a small group of dedicated technical resources
  • Prepare and execute test cases in support of identified enhancements and bugs
  • Write clear and concise user stories and requirements to facilitate the development effort
  • Prioritize and deliver maximum value to the organization considering ongoing resource constraints and the inability to clear 100% of open asks and projects at any given time.
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to define product strategy, actionable plan, and follow-through to execution and delivery.
  • Delegate tasks to your direct reports and ensure closure and completion of those tasks in a timely manner.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to multiple direct reports (2-3) so the team and organization are successful.
  • Ensure development sprints and agreed deliverables adhere to the schedule and are completed on time.
  • Support teams with major enhancements release and product training packages to ensure smooth release and drive user adoption of key functionality.
  • Ensure customer and business stakeholders’ satisfaction with services.
  • Analyze portfolio performance by establishing metrics and KPIs to track the success and health of your applications and team as well as establish a methodology to drive measurable improvement in these areas
  • Maintenance or other operations related experience (technical or practical – minimum 1 year) is a must.
  • Desire to take accountability for your team’s failures but likewise celebrate team success
  • Ability and track record of working with technical managers to plan resources and execute large and small projects which require both functional (direct control) and technical delivery (indirect control)
  • Willingness and ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization from Executive Leadership to Individual Contributors
  • Partner with multiple business leaders and stakeholders across different lines of business to establish short- and long-term objectives.
  • Flexible and resilient when dealing with uncertainty, unclear requirements, tight deadlines, and resource constraints
  • Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate’s Degree in business, computer engineering, computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience providing direct oversight and people management
  • Maintenance or other operations related experience (technical or practical – minimum 1 year)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with UI Design and Agile.
  • Experience with Cloud and application design programming.
  • Prior experience as a consultant

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Position is expected to be based in Houston office with infrequent visits to field locations requiring driving up to 3 hours one way
  • Thrives in a team environment and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
