Project Controls Cost Technician

Our client, a major Oil & Gas, is seeking a Project Controls Cost Technician to work on a contract until the end of the year (highly likely to be extended) in St. John, NL.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting – Support development of monthly and ad hoc Cost Reports/Forecasts.
  • Stewardship – Maintain files/logs/registers to assist in the monitoring of budget utilization, budget changes, purchase orders, incurred costs, invoices, and forecasts; in accordance with Cost Accounts.
  • Resource Profiling – Support the development of resource profiles in alignment with scheduled activities.
  • Analysis – Assist in the analysis of contractor timesheet and cost data to assess cost against budget and forecast impacts.
  • Purchase Order (PO) administration including requisition initiation.
  • Incurred Cost Valuation – Assist assessment of incurred costs for various vendors considering hours at site and related expenses.
  • Change Management – Support the Change Management Procedure in consultation with the Change Management Coordinator and Topsides Cost Controller.
  • Support/assist Cost Stewardship & Report Development.
  • Maintain files/logs/registers to monitor budget utilization, budget changes, purchase orders, incurred costs, invoices, and forecasts; in accordance with Cost Accounts.
  • Assist in identification of Forecast Changes.
  • Purchase Order (PO) administration including requisition initiation.
  • Support Incurred Cost valuation and Accrual Development.
  • Change Management – support submissions, reviews, and approvals.
  • Track CTR/Timesheet approvals.
  • Attest Invoices.
  • Develop presentation material as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Business; P. Tech.
  • 1 to 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a project environment would be an asset.

Competencies:

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel and Power Point is a must).
  • Communicates Effectively – Ability to clearly communicate with team members, contractors, and between site and office personnel is critical.

Office-based, 40 hours/week.
