About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader Procurement for Offshore Development, the Project Procurement Lead is responsible to deliver effective procurement outcomes for Santos Offshore Development projects which optimises risk and value to meet business objectives and contribute to Santos’ competitive advantage. 

Based in Perth, the role will be part of the broader procurement team supporting activities that encompass WA, NA and Timor-Leste assets.

Key accountabilities include:  

  • Identify, frame, execute and manage procurement packages and contracts in support of development and abandonment projects.
  • Develop contracting and procurement deliverables for the project delivery process and assurance requirements.
  • Develop and execute quality project contracting and sourcing strategies to achieve project requirements and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Deliver project benefits through sourcing, negotiation, and excellence in contract management.
  • Engage and collaborate with various key stakeholder to ensure best value outcomes and compliance.
  • Manage contractual relationships with suppliers to mitigate risk and ensure performance requirements are met.
  • Maintain assigned contracts and associated documentation to a high standard including management of term, contract value, security requirements, variations, claims and disputes. 
  • Perform and manage transactions within Contract Management and ERP systems.
  • Consider and pursue Local and First Nation participation and emission reduction opportunities for assigned sourcing activities and contracts.
  • Ensure assigned procurement activities comply with applicable Joint Venture Agreements and legislative requirements for relevant jurisdictions, including Timor-Leste.
  • Provide expertise and advice pertaining to contract terms, variations, disputes and sourcing delivery in line with project cost / schedule constraints.
  • Mentor and guide team members assigned to your assigned projects.

About You

  • Extensive experience in delivering procurement projects in a leading energy and/or Major Construction environment is essential.
  • The use of supply chain systems and ERP tools in the delivery of major projects.
  • Successfully leading commercial contract negotiations.
  • Substantial experience in Source to Procurement process.
  • Effective time management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Leading, influencing and effectively collaborating with cross functional teams including Project Managers, contractors and other stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.

Ideally you are degree qualified in Law, Engineering, Business or similar, with extensive procurement experience – preferably with major capital projects.

You are commercial orientated, results driven, flexible, resilient and have an adaptable approach in meeting business demands.
