Job Description Summary:
Prototyping and Testing Test bench Leader will be part of the prototyping and testing department under Technology Testing Lab (TTL) with particular focus for internal test benches, where He/She will be the TTL focal point.
The leader has full ownership on the prototypes testing and test bench erection for the IET (Industrial energy Technology), new technology validation campaign, he/she needs to work closely connected to the innovation labs, the IET organization, leveraging on selected partner suppliers, Universities, and external research institutions. The Leader has full ownership on the HSE matters related to the test bench and He/She needs to work closely connected to the company HSE and quality teams to implement existing procedure and create new ones.
Essential Responsibilities
Prototyping and Testing Test Bench leader has the following essential responsibilities:
- Be involved in the design testing solutions, working closely with the design team since the preliminary test specification definition, being fully involved in all the design phases (CDR, DDR, RFR, …).
- Make sure that working instructions are developed, tools, instrumentations are available in time to the execution of prototype installation inside the test bench and test execution.
- Support the design team in all the Design and Erection phases, making sure the new installation will match all the applicable HSE standard and TPS best practice.
- Work closely with the P&T Technical leaders to coordinate new test bench erection/commissioning and full engine/equipment validation.
- Be the reference point for quality control, directly managing NCR / RCA / CA and lessons learnt.
- Own the test rig preventive and corrective maintenance
- Be the HSE reference on the test bench auditing and leading investigations and continuous improvement projects.
- Be the contractor’s coordinator on the test bench.
- Improve and standardize machining / assembly /metrology processes, developing and formalizing best practices and technical documentation.
- Use internal digital tool, keep update the test bench database and improve it.
- Be flexible to work abroad in selected test benches as the focal point for TTL and the other organizations/companies.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with several years of experience in Testing).
- experience on turbomachinery validation/testing technologies
- good expertise on HSE matters.
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience as test bench leader Six-sigma GB Certified
- Proved good understanding of machining and assembly methods, combined with TPS product knowledge
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification and solution skills. Proven analytical and organizational ability.
