Job Description:
Our client, a leading heavy equipment dealer supporting major mining operations across the DRC, is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead quality assurance and quality control activities across workshop, field service, machine rebuild, component rebuild, and maintenance operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all repairs, rebuilds, maintenance activities, and machine deliveries are executed to OEM standards, while driving continuous improvement, compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance activities comply with OEM standards.
- Manage quality control systems, inspections, audits, and compliance processes.
- Verify workmanship quality on machines, components, and major rebuild projects.
- Lead root cause failure analyses and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework, failures, warranty costs, and downtime.
- Review technical reports, inspections, warranty claims, and quality documentation.
- Liaise with customers, OEM representatives, and operational teams on quality matters.
- Monitor quality KPIs, coach technical teams, and promote best practices across service operations.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Mechanical Trade Certificate or Engineering Degree.
- 10+ years’ experience in quality control for heavy mining equipment maintenance, rebuilds, or technical support.
- Heavy equipment dealer (OEM) experience essential.
- Experience supporting large mining fleets for open pit mining operations, including haul trucks, excavators, shovels, dozers, loaders, and graders.
- Skilled in diagnostics, troubleshooting, condition monitoring, and reliability improvement.
- Experience conducting RCFA investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Proficient in OEM systems, oil analysis, and warranty systems.
- Strong leadership, planning, coaching, and customer engagement skills.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, problem-solving, and continuous improvement abilities.
