Job Description:
Our client, with mining operations in West Africa, is seeking a Reliability Engineer with a background in processing plant in the mining sector to lead and execute reliability initiatives on site in West Africa. This includes implementing reliability-centred maintenance (RCM), conducting root cause analyses (RCA), optimizing maintenance strategies, and supporting asset management to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Support asset systems, data analysis, and reporting.
- Maintain CMMS records and contribute to lifecycle planning.
- Support procurement with reliability focus.
- Implement RCM and FMEA for critical equipment.
- Analyze data, drive improvements, and apply predictive maintenance.
- Monitor KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability).
- Lead RCAs, implement corrective actions, and track outcomes.
- Provide technical support and develop maintenance standards.
- Ensure safety compliance and support team training.
- Optimize maintenance strategies for performance and lifespan.
- Drive reliability improvements and track results.
- Mentor and develop junior team members.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- Postgraduate qualification in maintenance or asset management advantageous.
- Reliability and Lean / Six Sigma certification preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in process plant and mobile fleet maintenance engineering / reliability engineering within the mining sector.
- Strong RCA experience with proven corrective action implementation.
- Proven delivery of continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance.
- Experience developing and executing PM programs and maintenance strategies.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance (vibration, oil, thermography).
- Demonstrated impact on reliability, downtime reduction, and cost savings.
- Experience mentoring and training teams.
- Proficient in CMMS systems.
