What role you will play in our team
Fundamental science (material, chemistry, physics, etc.) to create ideas and to propose development programs for innovation in the fields of polymer targeted at achieving competitive advantage, thereby contributing to strategic business development opportunities,
Capable of independent laboratory work and apply scientific method
What you will do
- Lead and coordinate within R&D worldwide multifunctional team in project design and execution, participate in Global Chemical Research programs, interface with ExxonMobil technology / marketing / manufacturing organizations
- Apply fundamental science (material, chemistry, physics, etc.) to create ideas and to propose development programs for innovation in the fields of polymer targeted at achieving competitive advantage, thereby contributing to strategic business development opportunities
- Present and document research results, observe and evaluate scientific trends
- Keep abreast of relevant competitive IP literature in order to direct own research and to develop a strategically aligned intellectual property portfolio in the field of polymer science and write appropriate invention reports
- Develop strong contacts with academia and professional societies
- Provide resolution of relevant non-routine technical problems
About you
- Education –Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer, Polymer Engineering, Material Chemistry, Material science or equivalent major, PhD preferred
- Professional experience in one of the following areas is highly preferable: catalyst design and synthesis, organometallics (organic chemistry or inorganic chemistry), organic synthesis, polymerization, modeling for chemistry, polymer or polymerization (such as MD, DFT, etc.)
- Strong publication or patent records
- Familiar with general characterization
- Ability to manage programs for success as well as collaborate with cross functional teams.
- Demonstrated examples of innovative problem solving
