Short Description / Purpose of Job
Supervise access, movement control, loading, and dispatch of transportation units as part of the facilities management business process within Secunda Tankfarm Operations (STO) Logistics business.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
Handle activities of vehicle scheduling, access, and movement control.
Monitor activities to limit costs, improve accuracy, customer service, safety and quality.
Oversee weighbridge systems and operations where applicable.
Perform ongoing logistics operations improvements and identify opportunities to debottleneck loading facilities.
Assist STO Logistics operations in implementing change activities.
Issue permits to work and ascertain safety of operations from a technical and human perspective including applicable Process Safety Management (PSM), OHS18000 and ISO 14000 standards.
Constantly improve the physical STO Logistics operations through performance management, gap analysis, redesign, and implementation.
Adhere to legal requirements, business rules, policies, and internal controls.
Comply with risk policies, SOX, applicable regulations of the OHS act, and environmental legislation.
Provide constant feedback on loading operations to enable design, implementation, and improvement of transactional planning and execution systems.
Report loading information data to serve for performance measurement, data analysis, and decision support systems.
Create and maintain master data records. Confirm the accuracy of relevant master data from loading operations.
Guarantee governance compliance to enable supply chain activities and standardise loading operations.
Deliver updated functional training to all resources in the loading operations environment.
Attend relevant meetings and represent operations at appropriate forums.
Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations.
Implement Sasol Group’s risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, business units, and third-party logistics to optimise the effectiveness of logistics and transportation.
Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement, and track personal development plan to attain personal performance goals.
Manage team performance and development formally and informally based on standard practices in use across Sasol Group.
Identify and activate learning as required based on individual and collective needs.
Nurture a team spirit and openness towards feedback, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation.
Formal Education
Matric/ Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical science or similar
NQF level 4 Chemical operation qualification
Min Experience
8+ years relevant experience in either road or rail loading environment
