Role: Security Manager

Role Summary

The Security Manager will report directly to the General Manager – Operations Integrity and would have accountability to execute Heritage Energy Operational Service Limited (HEOSL) strategy to create and maintain a secure and stable environment for all personnel, assets, and infrastructure within Nigeria.

 

The role’s responsibility will span:

  • Strategic Security Planning:
    • Implement a dynamic risk-based and intelligence-based organizational security strategy.
    • Identify and mitigate potential threats to personnel, assets and infrastructure, proactively providing intelligence feedback to HEOSL management.
    • Define measurable security goals and risk reduction targets to track progress and effectiveness.
  • Performance Management and Oversight:
    • Maintain strict accountability for security Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Ensure adherence to optimum security standards and practices, and promptly address any gaps.
    • Manage and supervise the performance of the engaged security and access control personnel.
    • Provide daily and monthly security reports outlining activities, incidents, and risk assessments.
  • External Engagements and Relations:
    • Secure and nurture the support of government security forces and agencies (including, but not limited to, the Military, State Security Service, and Police Force) for HEOSL operations.
    • Collaborate with Community Relations Department and other relevant host community stakeholders to maintain a secure, collaborative and conducive operating environment.
    • Ensure community involvement in security initiatives, where appropriate, adhering to the Global Memorandum of Understanding (GMoU) and maximizing utilization of indigenous personnel.
  • Information Gathering and Technology Integration:
    • Establish and maintain overt and covert information gathering structures to anticipate and respond to direct and indirect security threats.
    • Explore and implement relevant technologies to enhance security effectiveness and efficiency.

Critical Competencies

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in security management within the oil & gas, mining, construction, or allied sector.
  • Minimum of a university degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive security strategies.
  • Proficiency in security risk assessment methodologies and reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of community engagement and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Proven experience in managing and motivating diverse teams of security personnel.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

  • Role is based out of Warri, Delta State, with travel required based on business needs.
  • Preferred candidates should have hands-on onshore/offshore security experience.
