The position

By joining our team in CFO you will have the opportunity to:

Join our Security Threat team and take on a role that combines threat analysis with threat mitigation. This desk will cover North Africa with scope to potentially cover the wider Africa region. This position also provides an interesting insight into the threat aspect from a commercial standpoint, giving a fresh perspective on understanding threat. 

In this role you will:

  • Monitor, assess and communicate security threats to the company’s people, assets and operations with a focus on North Africa, terrorism and the Sahel,
  • Cover other geographical areas/thematic topics. 
  • Produce country threat assessments and regular updates on threats relevant to the company. 
  • Produce thematic assessments of significant changes to types of threat relevant across the company’s business 
  • Provide input and support on developments in threat picture to Business Areas, Corporate Security and Safety and Sustainability functions (e.g. travel security).  Contribute to reporting on threat developments to senior management and the company’s governing bodies.

  • Degree level education, prefereably in a security or geopolitics related discipline. Knowledge of wider security issues and their context, supported by experience will be considered as an alternate. 
  • Previous experience of working in intelligence or threat analysis, this could be from the government, security, military or private sector. 
  • Previous experience within a relevant intelligence discipline such as counter-terrorism, North Africa or threat. 
  • The ability to gather information from disparate sources, analyse and convey findings in written and oral form to commercially focussed audiences. 
  • Fluency in Norwegian and English, written and oral, is essentia, this will help you to translate threats and developments into company context.
  • Proven ability to use digital solutions and create valuable new analytical products.
