At Eni, we are looking for a Senior Accountant within our Eni Cyprus business unit based at Nicosia, Cyprus Office. You will be responsible to support financial, accounting, budgeting, reporting and fiscal Company activities, in compliance with statutory obligations, company policies and internal procedures, aiming at the optimization of the Company financial performances


As a member of the Accounting Team at ENI Cyprus you will be responsible for:

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare monthly trial balance under International Accounting Standards.
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile monthly and quarterly Trial Balances.
  • Prepare the year-end statutory accounts and financial statements.
  • To study and implement IAS/IFRS Accounting principles/treatments in the Company (including being a reference point in the finance department for IFRS matters)
  • To prepare monthly reconciliations and accounting schedules for designated accounts, including intercompany accounts.
  • To calculate monthly depreciation, abandonment and under/overlift charges and adjustments using actual production data. Calculation of depreciation for Fixed Assets.
  • Critically review the financial results, ensuring that all major balances are supported by reconciliations
  • To calculate monthly depreciation, abandonment and under/overlift charges and adjustments using actual production data. Calculation of depreciation for Fixed Assets.
  • Run, review and fully reconcile the monthly capitalisation and cut-back reports
  • To control and maintain the Fixed Assets register.
  • To assist in the preparation of the monthly reporting to the eni.
  • Prepare and organise deliverable data and information for externa/JV/Internal auditors
  • To assist and answer queries from external, internal and JV Auditors.
  • Assist the Chief Accountant and JV Accountant in the preparation of representation letters
  • To book, monitor and reconcile invoices received from third party suppliers, affiliated companies and HO.
  • To book, monitor and reconcile accruals (including Opex and Capex) and prepayments, be responsible for Inventory accounting and Logistics accounting and run cutback.
  • To set up and change vendor and customer and general ledger (nominal ledger accounts, WBS and Cost Centers) master data as required.
  • To perform various ad-hoc accounting duties as required.
  • To control and or assist in the control and run of the cost allocation procedure.
  • To assist the Chief Accountant and JV Accountant in the design and maintenance of the Cost Allocation Procedure in order to minimise the Unabsorbed Internal Costs, maximise cost recoverability, and to guarantee the correct representation of the figures into the Reporting System.
  • To perform monthly payroll reconciliation
  • To be responsible for the accounting of warehouse in compliance with JOA and EPSC
  • To prepare and/or assist in the preparation of quarterly and yearly cost recovery statements
  • To prepare and/or assist in the preparation of monthly billings ensuring traceability of financial information
  • To prepare and/or assist in the issuing of monthly cashcalls to partners and to follow up by leasing with other finance sections to identify liquidity issues and promptly issue special cashcalls.
  • To ensure adherence to the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment policies, procedures and standards.
  • To fully comply with Eni Code of Ethics and Law 231 principles.

Required Competencies:


  • Accounting & Finance Degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounting activities
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office Programs .
  • Fluent written and spoken English Language.
