JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose
Supervise and coordinate the execution of core accounting processes and activities to ensure all financial transactions are accomplished, recorded, and reported accurately and timely in accordance with company’s accounting standards. Ensure systems control, accuracy and up-to-date recording of all relevant financial data.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
Fixed Asset Accounting
• Review Fixed Assets Register for both company JV & ASR, and related accounting activities such as computation and booking of monthly depreciation, includes recording transactions pertaining to capitalization, transfer, and write-offs.
• Monitor the completion of Capital Projects including the transfer of all completed projects from Capital Works in Progress to Capitalized Assets in the General Ledger and to include them in the Fixed Assets Register.
• Monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets and participate in the reconciliation of the Assets Register with the General Ledger.
• Support and advise Tax department for asset management and fixed assets accounting.
• Conduct analysis related to fixed assets as requested by management and auditors, and support the interim and year-end audit process related to fixed assets inquiries. Utilize appropriate systems and tools to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects, and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain the accounting for new equipment and related inventories stored at vendor and third party warehouse locations, determine new equipment asset value based on a moving average cost, observe the physically verification of the inventory.

Supervision
• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.
Budgets
• Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
• Implement approved Section / Team / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and company Code of Practices.
Reports
• Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
Internal Communications & Working Relationships
• Regular work related contact with concerned Team Leader / Department Manager as required, peer Professional staff and team members on matters related to Team Policies and Processes, People, HSE and domain specific issues.
• Regular contact with all Company employees up to Department Managers and occasionally to Vice Presidents on work related matters.
External Communications & Working Relationships
Coordination with various External & Internal Auditors performing auditing duties.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Accounting / Finance
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
• 8 years of experience in Fixed Asset Accounting within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas.
• Knowledge of IFRS relating to Fixed Assets & Inventory.
• Knowledge of Value Added Tax (VAT) relating to Fixed Assets & Inventory.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Accounting procedures and systems in ERP like SAP & Oracle.
• Good coordination/liaison skills with external agencies like bank, insurance, audit.
• Planning & Organising, Scheduling and Co-ordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording Skills.

Professional Certifications
CA, ICWA, ACCA, CPA, CMA preferred.
