What is the role?
Seaway7 are looking for a Senior Engineer that can fulfil the role of Installation Analysis Engineer.
As Senior Engineer Cable Installation Analysis you will be the contact point between the project engineering team for any queries related to cable lay installation, cable pull ins, on bottom stability, and free spans analysis.
You will be supporting the project engineering team, running analysis to optimise the cable lay vessel workability and operational planning.
What will your responsibilities involve?
As Senior Engineer Cable Installation Analysis you will be supporting the project engineering team, running analysis to optimise the cable lay vessel workability and operational planning and produce understandable reports that will be used for cable pull-in and cable installation offshore.
You daily activity will consist in:
- Be the project contact point for any matters related to cable lay and related analysis.
- Gathering and check the data required to perform the analysis.
- Advise project team on how to optimise the cable lay vessel workability and planning
- Run the analysis in connection to the cable vessel operations: (pull in, cable lay, on bottom stability, etc) with Orcaflex and Python, and produce the associated report.
- Depending on workload, delegate the work to more junior analysis engineers, supervise them, and ensure that all analysis report are issued on time.
In between projects, you might be asked to
- Support tender with analysis estimation.
- Optimize working process.
- Support cable vessel operations offshore.
What experience does the role require?
- A good knowledge of Orcaflex
- Programming skills, ideally Python / VBA
- At least 3 years in a cable/ flexible installation analysis department
- Offshore experience would be beneficial
- Knowledge of sea fastening/ rigging design would be beneficial
What are we looking for?
- Master of mechanics/marine/naval or equivalent
