Senior Engineer – Projects (Civil and Structural)

Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Senior Project Engineer (Civil & Structural) based in Muscat Oman.

Scope of Responsibilities

-Supervise a team of engineers in carrying out the design and construction activities of RCC buildings and structural steel works in compliance with tender specifications and within budgeted man-hour and project schedule.

-Support early work activities with respect to survey and site preparation.

-Coordinates the interfaces between the Engineering team and site Project management team.

-Monitors the engineering, procurement & construction progress, addresses shortfalls, assists in developing recovery plans where required and ensures plans are implemented. Provides feedback to project control team.

-Attends project progress review meetings and ensures that associated reports are compiled and distributed accordingly.

-Ensures that interface issues between disciplines are addressed and seeks management advise and assistance where required.

-Capable of formulating resolutions to technically challenging and/or high-profile issues with support from Engineering/ Project personnel and resolving with Project Management and Client.

-Regular site visits to support site construction activities as needed

-Perform overall quality control of the assigned work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.

-Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project stakeholders to provide assistance and technical support.

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Extensive working experience in Civil works and Building Design.

Minimum Requirement

  Minimum of 10 years oil industry experience directly related to civil works, building design and structural steel.
