Job Description:

Our client, a reputable international mining group with operations across Africa, is seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist with a strong gold exploration background to support and advance exploration programs across its operating sites. The role will focus on the planning, execution, and interpretation of exploration activities on active or advanced-stage gold projects, with direct involvement in drilling programs and geological modelling.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, execute, and supervise gold exploration programs (soil sampling, mapping, trenching, RC and diamond drilling)
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to define and prioritize targets
• Supervise drilling contractors and ensure QA/QC compliance for sampling and logging
• Conduct detailed core and RC logging, sampling, and data validation
• Contribute to resource definition and geological modelling
• Prepare technical reports, exploration updates, and recommendations for management
• Ensure exploration activities comply with HSE, environmental, and company standards
• Work closely with site teams to integrate exploration with ongoing operations

Experience and Skills:

• Degree in Geology (BSc required; MSc preferred)
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in exploration geology, with a strong focus on gold
• Proven experience on operational or producing mine sites
• Solid exposure to RC and diamond drilling programs
• Experience in high-risk, demanding environments
• Strong geological interpretation and reporting skills
• French-speaking preferred; strong English required
• Previous experience in Africa is a strong advantage
