Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Superintendent with a background in processing plant mechanical and electrical engineering maintenance on sag mills and related equipment, to lead their team on site in West Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing mechanical and electrical engineering maintenance activities within the processing plant and related facilities.
- Training and mentoring of the national workforce in line with OEM and industry best practices, including the preparation of training material.
- Assisting the Engineering Manager to ensure all work is carried out sufficiently.
- Carrying out continuous improvement initiatives and problem solving.
- Ensure plant performance metrics and maintenance compliance are achieved.
- Identifying and assessing maintenance issues and risks at the plant.
- Risk mitigation and compiling strategies to achieve and maintain compliance.
- Prompt recording, reporting and investigating of any incidents or events.
- Task allocation and overseeing maintenance carried out by the team.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.
- 15 years previous experience in mechanical and electrical engineering maintenance within mining processing plants, with 10 years in a leadership capacity.
- Previous experience in sag mills, cone crushers, conveyors, pumps and gravity separation.
- Rigging and lifting, component refurbishment and process plant installation experience.
- Computer literate in MS Office and Projects.
- Proven ability to mentor, train, coach and guide team members.
- Financial management acumen.
- Strong focus on health and safety standards and compliance.
- Previous expatriate experience in multicultural environments.
