About the role
A fantastic opportunity is now available for a Senior Process Control Engineer. Reporting to the Team Lead – Cooper Surveillance, the role is responsible for providing process control engineering support to the Moomba and Port Bonython Plant Operations to ensure maximum plant efficiency is achieved within the plant integrity limits.
The role will also be involved in providing the tools for operations to optimize OPEX production costs. In conjunction with process engineering and operations, you will assist with the identification and scoping of modifications and capital projects to improve plant efficiency and reliability.
Accountabilities are delivered in-line with the Santos company values. Key responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Being a subject matter expert to provide day to day process control advice to Moomba and Port Bonython Operations personnel
- Leading/participating in the troubleshooting of plant operational problems and incident investigations
- Leading plant optimisation plus operability and safety improvements via the implementation of base layer and advanced process control
- Ad-hoc site visits as required for project and operations support
- Monitoring and maintaining effective plant regulatory control performance
- Assisting Process Engineers with APC surveillance and monitoring activities
- Supporting APC modifications/revamps as needed
- Leading alarm management including participation in alarm rationalisation
- Maintaining control loop performance monitoring and alarm management software platforms
- Assisting with DCS and SIS lifecycle management
- Participating in Process Hazard Analysis and Safety Integrity Level classification reviews
About you
The successful candidate will hold a Chemical Engineering Degree or equivalent with a formal Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) qualification or be in the process of attaining. You will bring significant years’ experience in Oil & Gas or a similar heavy industry, coupled with demonstrable process control experience.
Experience with Emerson DeltaV and/or Honeywell Experion DCS platforms is preferred.
To be successful in this role you will bring an ability to work independently and in a team environment to deliver.
