We are looking for an individual with a strong Human Capital Technology background to support and plan our HCM systems including Workday, ServiceNow and other third party Human Resources applications.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Support and lead requirement gathering sessions, technical / solution design, effort estimations, and development of HR systems integrations
  • Support and guide the integration support within Workday
  • Understand and consider platform architecture best practices and guidelines as well as security and provisioning requirements for HR systems
  • Provide technical input to the decommissioning strategy / activities associated with the implementation of the new HCM
  • Work with the business in early stages of the project to understand their requirements and develop solutions which are optimal for the Suncor environment

  • As required, participate in the project meetings with internal HR and D&IT stakeholders, as well as vendors  
  • Support project management with estimations of work effort / resourcing to implement solutions through projects
  • Co-create technical specifications for support and development of systems integration requirements

  • Advise on current best practices and alternative technical solutions to drive business value
  • Participate in design, documentation and delivery of training as required
  • Participate in the quality assurance of solution deliverables

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 5+ years’ experience working and ideally supporting HCM Systems
  • Exceptional knowledge and experience with SAP-ECC – HCM, SuccessFactors or Workday
  • Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs
  • Broad knowledge of business, application, information, technical, infrastructure and security architecture
  • Proven ability to navigate and manage confidential data and PII information
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to developing and implementing software that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
  • Must have participated in, and be familiar with, Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Experience managing relationships with internal business customers and within team
  • Experience working with multi-cultural and matrix environment
  • Ability to successfully work under tight project deadlines

Preference for:

  • Degree in Business, MIS or equivalent
  • Experience with BIRT, Mulesoft, Kafka, Informatica, Saviynt, Active Directory is an asset
  • Knowledge or Suncor and the Human Resource Operations
  • Strong understanding of the Workday and ServiceNow HRSD module, as well as the vendor roadmap and functionality in use at Suncor today is an asset

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
