Ship Contract Specialist (LNG)

We are working with a leading international energy organisation who are seeking an experienced Ship Contract Specialist with LNG experience. The purpose of this role is to Develop, negotiate, execute, analyse, evaluate all LNG shipping and other marine related contracts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all tasks related to Shipping obligations and compliance monitoring under applicable contracts and any subsequent negotiations or amendments to ensure that ship delivery / re-delivery notices, ship end-of-contract reconciliations, time charter performance warranty clauses, ship insurance verification, ship off-hire administration, bunker procurement terms, and any other contracts under management of the hipping department are properly managed and improvements sought.
  • Develop and distribute financial reports, including the Fleet Pooling reconciliation in accordance with the Fleet Pooling Agreement and associated procedure, to ensure appropriate allocation of Shipping cost to its respective venture.
  • Work with insurance team to consult and liaise regarding ship insurance risks (related to Charterer’s obligation under the Time Charter Party (TCP) Agreements), coverage and associated premiums. In liaison with Insurance team, manage and negotiate insurance terms with ship Owners to ensure optimal protection against risk while balancing associated premiums.
  • Analyze, evaluate and negotiate OPEX budget and actuals with ship Owners / Operators

 

Candidate Profile:

  • Class 1 Marine Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer) or bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Marine Studies or similar.
  • 8 years’ experience in shipping related field with some understanding of shipping contracts, terminology and fundamentals of voyage analysis.
  • Experience in ship contract performance reviews and claims settlement.
  • Prior use and knowledge of standard industry sources of information such as International Maritime Organization (IMO).
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office).
