Are you a new graduate or in the early years of your career with a background in Electrical, Automation, or Cybernetics engineering? Then this is your chance to enter into the oil and energy industry by specialising in Subsea Control systems. Our SPEAD program offers you the following;
  • A tailor-made combination of practical “on the job” training supplemented by selected technical training courses for a duration of 24 months in the frame of a permanent contract
  • Be part of a committed team and participate in challenging and meaningful business relevant projects in domestic and international assignment locations
  • Clear and competent technical supervision from senior staff, proactive support from mentors and SPEAD coordination
Description of our SPEAD Programme for Subsea Controls Engineers:
As a Subsea Controls Engineer, you will take a role in a multi-discipline team, participating in activities from studies and technical design to projects,  commissioning, start-up and operations of a subsea asset. Typical activities and tasks include:
  • Provide technical input for concept development, engineering and construction of subsea control systems
  • Participate in developing and implementing subsea control system philosophies
  • Ensure that project standards and functional specifications for control systems are suitable
  • Follow-up contractors engineering, construction, testing and commissioning activities within subsea control systems
  • Ensure that engineering, construction and maintenance of control systems is performed in accordance with standards and functional specifications.
  • Respond to technical enquiries from assets related to operational problems
  • Provide subsea control system support to internal and external project review activities
  • Participate in providing subsea control system expertise to the subsea operation team and supporting the operation and maintenance of the Wintershall Dea Subsea Production Systems
  • Participate in planning and executing minor studies and modifications projects
  • Participate in providing input to preventive maintenance and inspection program for subsea facilities
  • Participate on providing input to planning and execution subsea inspection, maintenance and repair campaigns
  • Ensure that relevant technical documentation (LCI) is updated, correct and accessible

  • Master degree, equivalent or PhD (Electrical Instrumentation, Automation Engineering (E&I), Cybernetics Engineering, Mechatronics, Subsea Engineering, or related studies)
  • University study completed within a reasonable time frame and demonstrable academic achievement
  • At least one relevant internship
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills. Proficiency in another foreign language would be an advantage.
  • Norwegian is preferred in addition to Spanish, or Russian
  • International experience (internship / study abroad, school exchange) would be an advantage
  • Strongly developed social and interpersonal skills
  • High flexibility and willingness to work internationally with a strong connection to residing in Norway where the position will be based after completion of the program
