Specialist, Lifting Equipment







Work as Technical authority for all Lifting Equipment operations, maintenance and inspections covering all Operations, Project and Drilling lifting activities while promoting and applying all relevant HSE and Lifting Standards. The role to ensure supervisory and executor teams on site are equipped with the necessary guides, procedures, product codes and specifications, the use and sourcing of lifting equipment in accordance with company Onshore policies and corporate objectives. 




Job Specific Accountabilities


    • Act as technical authority in the operation, maintenance and inspection of lifting equipment across company Onshore assets.
    • Develop and maintain existing technical standards, work procedures and specifications for lifting equipment in line with other company Companies and world class ‘best practice’.
    • Ensure all company Onshore lifting equipment registers, processes, operating procedures

(Generic/Specific) and work practices are fit-for-purpose.

    • Assists site staff for implementation of Lifting Equipment procedures by giving technical advice and preparing lift plans as requested.
    • Establish the technical requirements for examination/inspection regime. Review of Contractor periodic integrity inspections and certifications of Lifting Equipment and color-coding activities.
    • Identifies the necessary training required to implement Safe Operations of Cranes and rigging within company Onshore to support and encourage the practical application of competency-based development across company Onshore work sites.
    • Enforce proper compliance to company Onshore lifting Management Strategy for all lifting operations including all Operations, Project and Drilling lifting contractors’ activities in all operational areas. 
  • contact with external professional bodies to gauge levels of expertise against the company’s norms.



Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent


Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years lifting and rigging experience, ideally in O & G construction environment..


Professional Certifications 

      •         Relevant lifting qualification and certification by recognized authorities (OPITO, LEEA, EAL, ECITB).
