Overview
We are seeking an Intellectual Property Attorney to join the Intellectual Property Law Department, within the Law Organization.
The attorneys within the Intellectual Property Law Department perform or direct the performance of legal activities within the department and assists the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and General Attorneys in providing world class legal services to Aramco and its partners and affiliates.
You will report directly to the head of the company’s Intellectual Property Law Department and will work closely with internal clients and inventors in support of the company’s various technologies and scientific disciplines.
Duties & Responsibilities
Managing outside counsel in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.
Patent portfolio management.
Counseling clients.
Providing IP education to clients on various IP-related topics.
Providing legal advice in the areas of patent portfolio strategies. In addition, the attorney will have the opportunity to draft and negotiate research and development agreements and IP licenses.
Minimum Requirements
10+ years of experience working for a strong law firm or major corporation.
Experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications.
A strong chemicals or petrochemical background.
familiarity with the Patent Cooperation Treaty and other foreign prosecution authorities.
Oil or chemical industry experience is a plus.
Candidates must be currently licensed, admitted to practice, and in good standing in the United States, Canada, or the European Union.
An undergraduate degree in Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering strongly preferred but not required.
