Summary

 

The Sr Market Development Lead is the senior technical marketing professional on the Surfacant Intermediates team responsible for leading value chain engagement to identify and capture major growth opportunities and develop the market for new products. The Sr Market Development Lead is a catalyst for application knowledge build and competency development in the Surfactants segment as well as a coach and mentor to less experienced team members.

Primary Roles:

 

•    Lead key elements of market segment strategies development in Surfactant Intermediates and assist Global Market Development Manager in operationalizing the strategy
•    Drives strategic marketing thinking, translates market trends and customer needs into segment strategy
•    Responsible for segment specific growth pipeline beyond year to year organic growth by developing new markets, applications and new products
•    Define value proposition, prepare marketing basis and business case-for-action in new product introductions
•    Be the go- to person to help improve the overall knowledge base of the members of the segment
•    Mentor and coach to enhance capability of segment members
•    Undertake and regularly update competitive intelligence and identified competitive response
•    Active role in engaging with the market and progressing pipelines to commercialization of strategic and selective expansion customers
•    Lead and Support new product development program activities and be main conduit to bridge the cross functional relationship with Sustainability organization to connect business strategy with sustainability trends
•    Define Value-in-Use in specfic applications of the segment and recommend relevant price strategy; support Value-in-use broadly within the Surfactant Intermediates team and LAO and Higher Alcohols Team

Desired Background:

 

•    Technical marketing and application development experience in the Surfactants value chain. Experience in alcohols, olefins, oleochemicals and derivatives is a plus.
•    MBA with Technical degree in chemistry and/or chemical engineering strongly preferred
•    Solid business economics and analytical skills in projects evaluation
•    New product introductions
•    Experience: 10+ years in the Surfactants value chain with 5+ years in market facing roles
