Rotterdam Area

 

The head office of the Benelux organisation is situated in Breda. The production plants are located in the Rotterdam port area.

  • The Rotterdam refinery is one of the most modern and environmentally friendly of its kind. Since being put into operation in 1960, the plant has undergone several renovations. The sizeable capital investments through the years have made the refinery ultra-efficient.
  • Officially called the Rotterdam Plasticizers & Intermediates Plant, the Rotterdam Oxo-alcohols Plant actually comprises three production facilities: the Rotterdam Oxo-Alcohol Plant in Europoort, the Phthalic Anhydride Plant and the Rotterdam Plasticizer Plant, which are both located in Rotterdam Botlek. It is the largest producer of plasticizers in Europe.
  • The Pernis Lubricant Plant – or Lube Oil Blending Plant – produces various types of engine oil for cars and lubricants for industrial applications.

What role you will play in our team

What you will do

 

Your tasks and responsibilities:

 

  • You will become technical lead of one of our plants.
  • You will be using EM latest tools to develop and implement static equipment strategies, including defining turnaround and inspection scopes.
  • You will work with project teams, engineering contractors and suppliers in specifying/acquiring equipment, ensuring that specifications are met and follow projects through to start-up.
  • You will be evaluating inspection results and repair scopes, in order to secure reliable operation.
  • You will be updating equipment strategies, applying validated RBI methodology and evaluating material degradation mechanisms.
     

About you

 

To be eligible for this role, you must:

 

  • Be a holder of a bachelor or master degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
  • Have 5 to 10 years of work experience, preferably within an operating company or a major engineering contractor in the petrochemical or oil & gas industry.
  • Be fluent in Dutch and English.

 

Furthermore, you should have the following technical knowledge and skills:

 

  • Knowledge of the ”Warenwet- en Praktijkbesluit Drukapparatuur” and the design codes for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks and piping, such as PED, ASME, TEMA and API.
  • Experience with performing Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) and evaluation of material and mechanical defects.
  • Have an Inspection Certificate Level 3 (Inspectie- en Keuringsdeskundige, SKO-3) or in the process of obtaining such a level 3 certificate, as you will have a key role in our ISO-IVG.
