Our summer internship is a 7-weeks programme designed to provide the experience and skills you need in your studies and future career. Our Norwegian internship will begin on 23 June and ends on 8 August 2025.

The position
Manufacturing, Marketing and Processing (MMP) is a commercial area responsible for maximizing the value creation of Equinor’s production worldwide, as well as developing value chains for Equinor’s activities. MMP is responsible for global market analysis, marketing and trading of crude, petroleum products, natural gas and electricity, as well as developing new business opportunities with focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions through carbon capture and storage and low-carbon hydrogen as an energy carrier. MMP is also responsible for transportation and infrastructure positions to ensure Equinor’s production reaches the market in an efficient manner.
We are close to 1,000 employees with key roles such as Traders, Marketers, Originators, Business Developers, Macro and Market Analysts, Commercial and Shipping Operators, Charterers, Contract managers and Deal handlers, Asset managers and various other roles covering digitalization and improvement initiatives. In addition, we have the ambition to be the European leader in clean hydrogen and carbon capture and storage, with stated targets of over 25% market share in CO2 transport and storage capacity and over 10% market share in clean hydrogen by 2035.
Our summer interns will work on multiple tasks throughout the business. Work tasks may vary according to your competence profile, assignment, and business needs. Typical assignments under MMP are within:
• Low Carbon solutions: Participate in business case development, optimization and commercial strategy work and developing low carbon value chains, as well as contribute in ongoing clean hydrogen projects and work related to CO2 transport and storage solutions
• Commodity market analysis: energy markets, macroeconomics, market analysis, policy and regulations, crude oil evaluation, market modelling.
• Trading and Marketing: support of business development in commodity markets, chartering and risk management, algorithmic trading, developing, and validating quantitative models for valuation and risk assessment.
• Energy logistics: support of commercial operations, commercial contracts management, claims and deal handing

For this position we are looking for those with:
• Currently studying for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong academic record within Economics, Engineering, Finance, Shipping, Trading, Logistics, Business, Industrial Economics, Innovation, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Marketing, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Biology, Naval architecture, Marine Technology, Offshore Technology, Technology Management, Maritime Law, Political Science and Law, Psychology, Social Sciences, Communication, Energy Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Sustainability and related disciplines.
• Fluent in English.
• No more than two years of relevant full-time work experience.
• Have completed at least two years of higher education before the internship programme starts (23 June 2025).
• Have at least one year of higher education left after the internship programme ends (8 August 2025).
• The interns need to be located in the country where the internship takes place during its entire duration. Equinor does not support any relocation for our summer interns.
• Candidates must have the necessary work permit for the country in which they are applying for a position. The work permits must be valid at the point of application and for the duration of the employment. • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work are an advantage.
