Job Description:

Our client, a leading mining group, is seeking a highly skilled Superintendent: Group Financial Reporting to join their Group Finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting group consolidation, technical accounting, and financial reporting processes in accordance with IFRS Accounting Standards within a listed corporate environment.  This role is suited to a technically strong Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with experience in financial modelling, consolidation accounting, and resolving complex technical accounting matters. The position offers exposure to group-level reporting, acquisitions, and strategic financial analysis within a dynamic mining environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review group consolidation packs and supporting financial workings on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Perform consolidation journals, checks, and ensure accuracy prior to system reporting.
• Prepare subsidiary financial statements in line with IFRS Accounting Standards and Group policies.
• Develop financial models including discounted cash flow calculations, impairment assessments, and environmental rehabilitation obligations.
• Assist with life-of-mine model reviews and weighted average cost of capital calculations.
• Research and resolve complex technical accounting matters and prepare technical accounting memorandums.
• Support acquisition accounting processes, including purchase price allocations and entity integrations.
• Prepare consolidated financial reports, segment reporting, and cost performance analysis.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide supporting documentation during audit processes.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement of financial reporting and consolidation systems.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• NQF 8 qualification in Accounting (Postgraduate Diploma / Honours Degree or equivalent).
• Qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA) registered with SAICA.
• Minimum of 2 years’ post-articles experience in group financial reporting or technical accounting.
• Experience within a large listed entity environment essential- Mining industry is advantageous.
• Experience operating within a SOX-compliant environment advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards and consolidation accounting principles.
• Experience preparing financial models and discounted cash flow calculations.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
