Our Clients Scottish Power are currently recruiting for a Technical Administrator to join their team based in Dumfries on a contract basis.

Rate: £11.22ph

For this role ideally the ideal candidate will have Administration experience and preferably Data Processing experience. Please see below for the job description:

Main Purpose of Job

  • Maintenance of District work programmes
  • Processing of DATA
  • Administrative support to District delivery area


  • Provide a central contact point for the District in respect of the work programme and outage plan
  • Assist in the processing of data from direct staff, contractors and work programmes
  • Supporting the weekly and daily maintenance of the resource plan and work programme
  • Recording, allocating and matching resource to the work programme in an effective manner
  • Maintain the outage plan for the District and search for opportunities to combine work activities on a given shutdown.
  • Utilise PowerOn to identify potential work to maximise outage opportunities and drive productivity
  • Production and delivery of reports and management information within agreed timescales
  • Implementation of work programme project administration controls
  • Liaison with external suppliers and other business areas Printing and collation of information to assist in the generation of work packs

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Planning and Organising skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Significant all round administrative experience
  • Able to operate at all levels of the business
  • Working knowledge of Business IT systems – ENPaRT, SAP, REDOWL, PowerON
  • Developed negotiation, communication and people management skills.
  • Developed Customer Service skills
  • Familiarity with MS suite of systems

Minimum Criteria (mandatory)

  • Experience in a multi-stranded project support/co-ordination role or equivalent role
  • PC literate – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc
  • General knowledge of the Operations, Maintenance and Construction Businesses activities.
  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent standard
  • Significant relevant experience
  • Computer literacy – e.g. Microsoft Office suite
