JOB TITLE: Technical Leader, Mechanical Systems
LOCATION: Onshore/Offshore

1.1 ROLE
SUMMARY
Overall responsibility is to ensure that
the asset integrity of the Seadrill rig fleet is maintained in accordance with
corporate and international standards. Provide support to operations, oversight
for equipment overhauls and consultation with vendors as an integral member of
the Mechanical Systems team.
1.2 JOB
SPECIFIC
Specific tasks in connection with the role
- Attend the rig to perform technical integrity inspection according to the Seadrill inspection checklist
- Attend the rig to support operational requirements for investigations, capital project support, and incident recovery
- Attend vendor facilities to oversee equipment maintenance and testing
- Act as a company subject matter expert within the assigned product line
- Verify the implementation of critical vendor technical bulletins
- Generate high quality technical reports that can be used to support maintenance expenditure and effectively plan capital projects
- Liaise with vendors and review equipment reliability/upgrades
- Ensure best practices and lessons learned are shared across the Seadrill fleet
- Perform an annual review and update of the Seadrill inspection checklist in conjunction with the technical inspection team and wider technical services department
- Independently manage rig attendance, inspection planning and reporting for assigned rigs
- Pursue opportunities and support the development of condition monitoring and condition-based maintenance for equipment in the assigned areas of responsibility
- Assist various rig and project management teams as required to develop and advise on proposed scopes of work in connection with SPS or other long-term maintenance/upgrade projects
- Build strong relationships between technical services and the offshore rig teams
1.3 AREA OF
RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for/ensure:
- Independent planning and reporting of rig inspections assigned
- Generation of high-quality rig inspection reports for all stakeholders
- Advise the rig teams on effective corrective actions for identified findings
- Provide offshore operational subject matter expert support
1.4 DELIVERABLES
- Corporate technical inspection reports with actions recorded in Synergi
- Daily report and end of visit reports for operational support requirements
- Sharing reliability issues and equipment downtime learnings to improve rigs’ efficiency
1.5 EXPERIENCE
- Min 5 years minimum experience offshore in respective discipline at supervisory level
1.6 COMPETENCE &
QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
- High level relevant technical knowledge
- Ability to liaise at high level with drilling units technical teams and unit management
- Flexible to travel offshore or to company office locations as situations dictate
- Has excellent understanding of equipment and systems within area of responsibility
- Fully acquainted with management systems and asset management systems similar to TMS/Maximo/Synergy
- Proficient at technical writing and communications using MS Office products
1.8 AUTHORITY
- Authors corporate reports (Technical reports, Technical Bulletins, Technical proposals)
- Address OEMs on behalf of the company to improve equipment reliability within product line responsibility
