JOB DESCRIPTION

Technician, Mechanical Maintenance

JOB PURPOSE:

Carry out day to day Mechanical rotating and static maintenance activates in addition to corrective, overhaul and breakdown maintenance activates related to all Mechanical equipment in the assigned field / Area.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Receive Work order from Mechanical Engineer, Review the equipment maintenance history and arrange the necessary consumables/spares/tools.
  • Obtain the necessary work permits & certificates as per maintenance procedures and company HSE regulations,
  •  
  • Carry out efficiently & safely all the assigned maintenance activities (Preventive, Corrective, Breakdown & Predictive) as per work order and standard maintenance procedures.
  • Carry out the necessary inspection in order to determine the extent of repair required & prepare inspection, failure & overhaul reports accordingly.
  •  
  • Monitor the condition of all rotating equipment Visually or using the relevant devices/systems within the area of responsibility.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot the equipment & implement the fault -finding routine and procedures in consultation with Mechanical Engineers and other disciplines when required.
  •  
  • Carry out new installations, modifications and testing of mechanical equipment through various stages as per plan and in line With the Engineer instructions.
  • Participate in the major overhaul and shutdown maintenance activates as assigned by Engineer and identifies spares, special tools & tackles requirements to execute the activity.
  • Update the maintenance records for all mechanical equipment as per MAXIMO relevant records.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records, files, drawings, manual, datasheets, etc. related to the various maintenance activities in a well administrative manner.

Training

  • Provide on-the-job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.

Toolbox

  • Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.
  •   Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.

    Time Managment

  • Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards,
  • Inform the Maintenance Supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame. 

    Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  •  Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes. machinery or equipment. 

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability 

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and company Code of Practices.

  • Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member. 

    Housekeeping

  • Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping. 

    Reports

  •  Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
  • Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports. 

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal

  • Regular contact with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical, Instrument & Control and Operations teams. 

External

  • Nil 

QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification:

  • Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  •  4 years of experience, preferably in Oil & Gas Industry. 

Professional Certifications

  •  Nil    

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  •  HSE Knowledge
  • Production Operations Knowledge.    

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Problem Solving.  

WORK CONDITION:

Physical Effort: 40% – Spent walking and standing on site visits. 

Work Environment: 60% – Non-air-conditioned environment, exposed to heat, humidity, noise and fumes.
