The position

By joining our team in CFO Functional Center of Excellence you will have the opportunity to:

Be part of global People and Organistion (PO) unit that provide professional expertize and support to  business lines and functional areas across Equinor. As a member of the global payroll team, you will be responsible for timely and accurate oversight of UK payroll matters throughout employee life-cycle, including non-standard cases. You will also:

  • Work closely with our external payroll vendor to ensure best local expertise for payroll compliance and governance.

  • Ensure all relevant payroll processes are documented and maintained in line with internal governance requirements and external legislative/regulatory requirements, including GDPR.

  • Maintain and improve payroll policies and processes (including mapping and documentation across relevant functions).

  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK statutory/regulatory laws and reporting requirements (including IR35, RTI submissions, etc.) and internal policies.

  • Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and support internal and external audits related as such.

  • Act as the single point of contact for all employee payroll related HMRC tax enquiries, audits, and meetings. Ensure that all internal and external audit requirements are met.

  • Plan for, implement and review system development, statutory changes, and periodic processes. Support with testing for development/enhancements to Payroll system for UK.

  • Engage in global payroll activities and relevant cross functional tasks or projects. Assist internal teams with payroll related queries, providing guidance and support.

  • Bachlore or Master’s degree is required.

  • Proven experience as payroll specialist, with extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

  • Solid understanding and strong technical knowledge of payroll and employment legislation and how this is applied across multiple workforce segments on various work schedules / compensation regimens and how this is applied across multiple workforce segments on various work schedules / compensation regimens.

  • Ability to manage risk and exercise judgement to resolve/escalate issues. Exercise discretion when handling confidential matters.

  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a global and virtual team in a complex matrix organisation, with external vendors,  and with key stakeholders.

  • Commitment to service delivery, owning tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Strong digital competence, especially related to office tools and payroll systems.
