As a Well Engineer – Integrated Solutions (IS) you will lead all the well engineering activities within a project or Center of Excellence according to guidelines and processes set out in the IWS&S Management System, international and/or local standards and regulations and customer requirements.

The role provides technical input to the well construction, completions, well intervention and abandonment phases, from the concept and tendering stage through project commencement, execution, and project close out.
During tendering phases, in addition to engineering work, the engineer will be providing technical input to the commercial and procurement teams. During planning and execution stages, the engineer interfaces with stakeholders to ensure safety, well integrity and cost-effective job execution.
The Well Engineer – Integrated Solutions (IS) ensures that the well design and well program is prepared, and detailed procedures are provided to the execution team; the Senior Well Engineer is a key contributor during project execution providing follow up, technical input, operational optimization recommendations and implementation and troubleshooting support.
As the Well Engineer – Integrated Solutions (IS) you will be responsible for:
Ensuring all engineering activities are in line with HSE policies and procedures, and drive HSE culture by setting example through safe work practices.
Conducting business according to Baker Hughes Culture Pillars
Participating in tender bid preparation process for well engineering input.
Delivering customer presentations & lead meetings (may include travel to other locations).
Preparing and review of well design, well plan and operational procedures for construction, completion, intervention and/or abandonment of wells in area of responsibility.
Defining technical rig requirements.
Defining technical services and third-party requirements.
Prepare and review operational time and well cost estimates.
In collaboration with internal and external parties, prepare risk register and contingency plans.
Preparing, participating, and leading peer reviews, peer assists, and other quality assurance activities related to the project.
Monitoring daily progress of job(s) or project(s) and monitor operations expenditure
Will require international and domestic travel
Fuel your passion:
To be successful in this role you will have:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering is required. A MS in Petroleum/Oil & Gas or Well Engineering is preferred.
10+ years of relevant work experience in well construction, completions, intervention and/or optimization. Competences should include offset well analysis, AFE preparation, operational time estimation, sand control, inflow control, flow assurance, downhole equipment selection, production and intervention operations, hydraulic stimulation engineering simulations, field operations, preparation of programs, or similar.
Experience working in at least two relevant applications: horizontal and/or multilateral wells, casing design, smart well completions, deep-water drilling, offshore operations, pad wells, unconventional wells, CCUS well design, geothermal well design.
Well control certification (prior or current)
Excellent interpersonal skills to work well with colleagues across all businesses/cultures, achieve objectives through effective influencing, and establish credibility with senior leaders.
Excellent analytics and problem-solving, including ability to form hypotheses and move forward in the absence of complete information.
Excellent English oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize complex topics into clear and simple messages.
MS office suite, montecarlo simulation, power BI or other analytical tools, well engineering and design software (for example: hydraulics, torque and drag, casing/tubing design).
Prefer to hire someone that can speak Spanish or Portuguese.
