The Well Integrity Advisor will provide technical support to the Operations Hubs (Baldpate, GS1/Tubular Bells, Stampede). The individual will serve as focal point between Operations, MR&I, TA’s/SME’s, discipline engineers and supporting functions to help ensure Well Integrity activities and related regulatory requirements, are adhered to in accordance with the GOM-INT-STD-01000 GOM Well Integrity Management System (WIMS) Standard and supporting subordinate documents. The role’s primary focus is to support and assist with full life cycle well integrity management of the GOM assets through the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of appropriate standards, guidelines, processes, and associated tools. 

Necessary for the success and quality of this support will be the ability to collaborate proficiently with a multi-disciplinary team including members within the operations, production, subsea, wells, regulatory, and EHS communities.


This position will be office based in the Hess Tower with periodic travel as necessary/requested.



  • Provide technical support to asset-related well integrity activities and anomaly management including, but not limited to trouble-shooting efforts, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) development, decision analysis (DA) input, MOC review and endorsement, well intervention planning input, and well handover endorsement; as well as participation in peer reviews, risk assessments, HAZIDs, and HAZOPs.
  • Lead the development, revision, and implementation of the GOM Well Integrity Management System (WIMS) Standard and subordinate documents.
  • Design, implement, and maintain an assurance strategy to ensure asset compliance with the GOM WIMS Standard including progression and tracking of gap closure plans.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a GOM WIMS Standard training strategy to communicate expectations to all personnel and roles associated with well integrity.
  • Deliver, execute, and maintain a strategy to ensure GOM WIMS Standard conformance to corporate WIMS, Reliability, and Integrity policies, as well as compliance with regulatory bodies as it pertains to well integrity.
  • Provide support on development, revision, and maintenance of Well Integrity Files (WIFs), Well Barrier Envelope Schematics (WBESs), and Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs).
  • Direct well integrity management software (iWIT) evaluation, problem-solving, and user support.
  • Develop and maintain asset-specific well integrity dashboards.
  • Develop and revise tubing / casing WellCat models and revise integrity operating windows (IOWs) as necessary.




  • Well control supervisor certification considered a benefit, but not required.
  • HUET certification and Offshore Medical to remain valid through assignment.
  • Strong understanding of offshore wells construction and operability, trees, and control systems for both hybrid dry tree, as well as subsea wells.
  • Possess knowledge of Production and Operations Engineering.
  • Experience and mastery in WellCat modelling, WellView, PI database, and Well Integrity CMMS (i.e., iWIT).
  • Mastery on Integrity Critical Elements (ICE), Well Barrier Management, Well Performance Standards, and Risk Based Inspection (RBI).
  • Mastery in competency and interpreting BSEE regulations within 30CFR250, API Specifications and RPs (6A, 14A, 14B, 17D, RP75, RP90, etc), NORSOK D-010, ISO 16530-1. 
  • Demonstrated capability to communicate, collaborate and influence others without direct authority.
  • Strong understanding and application of various Wells standards and procedures including Design & Operations, Well Control, Risk Management, Well Handover, WDX, Tubing and Casing Design Standards.
  • Ability to conduct internal well integrity verification audits, as well as manage third-party audits.
  • Experience working with Lean principles highly desired.
  • Significant experience with Risk Assessments, Root Cause Analysis, HAZIDs, and Management of Change processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision as a self-starter in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects, Visio, Teams. And SAP)

Education, Training & Certifications

  • Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering degree.
  • 15 years of exploration and production engineering experience, with at least 5 years of well integrity or well intervention focus.  Preference for GOM and sub-sea competency.
