Job Description:
Our client, a large maritime and logistics company, is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Agency Manager to lead its operations in Madagascar. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for the country’s financial performance, operational excellence, customer relationships, regulatory compliance, and people leadership. The successful candidate must be fluent in French and have proven experience within the maritime, shipping or logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Own full country P&L performance, including revenue growth, profitability, EBITDA and cash flow.
- Develop and execute country strategy, annual budgets and business plans aligned with group objectives.
- Monitor pricing strategies, margins, cost structures, working capital, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash flow performance.
- Identify, assess and mitigate financial, commercial and operational risks across the business.
- Drive business development initiatives by identifying market opportunities and establishing competitive commercial advantages.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, government authorities, regulators and strategic partners.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical customer, operational and commercial matters.
- Ensure high standards of operational performance, service delivery, compliance, efficiency and risk management across all business functions.
Qualification and Skill:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- Extensive senior management experience with full P&L responsibility within the logistics, maritime, freight forwarding, shipping or related service industries.
- Previous experience working within Africa and multicultural, emerging-market environments.
- Strong understanding of commercial, financial and operational management principles.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing cross-functional management teams.
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance and corporate risk management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, reporting platforms and digital business tools.
- Fluency in French is essential.
