Key Responsibilities: Commercial Analyst

• Perform Economic and Business Valuations for all Capital Investments in accordance with industry best practices, ensuring consistency and adherence to internal procedures and guidelines.
• Develop and manage intricate financial models for valuation and long-term forecasting across all business interests.
• Translate complex technical and fiscal data into concise and actionable insights to facilitate decision-making processes.
• Deliver presentations on economic valuations to relevant teams and team leads, accompanied by recommendations and investment proposals based on well-defined assumptions.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Planning and Economics and Corporate Planning Manager to facilitate coordination between Business teams and the Planning function, aiding in the development of comprehensive long-term Business plans and gathering necessary information for capital allocation and life cycle value chain processes.
• Assist the Finance team during Year-end and Half-year financial audits.
• Contribute to the delivery of Group Strategic and Business Development initiatives by evaluating and screening opportunities as needed.

Key Requirements: Commercial Analyst

• Knowledge of building detailed excel based financial and valuation models
• Understanding of different Upstream Petroleum fiscal regimes preferred but not essential
• Understanding of investment appraisal methodology in in a highly capital-intensive industry
• Financial Modelling experience
• Internal stakeholder management experience
• Experience working as part of a team
