About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Community and Stakeholder Adviser to join the team in Narrabri. This role is responsible for assisting with developing and implementing the annual Community Engagement Plan for NSW with a primary focus on the consultation and engagement required to support the Hunter Gas and Narrabri Lateral Pipeline project regulatory approvals.
The Community and Stakeholder Adviser will manage Santos’ relationships with key community stakeholders, coordinate the community investment, sponsorship and grants program and deliver community education, engagement and consultation initiatives.
Based in Narrabri. Standard Monday to Friday work week with some regional travel and out of hours attendance at community events.
Key accountabilities include:
- Initiate, develop and maintain strong relationships with key community stakeholders.
- Identify, address and monitor community issues and perceptions.
- Effectively assist with the facilitation of community consultation and stakeholder briefings, gathering feedback and insight to continually improve engagement strategies and outcomes.
- Represent Santos at events, community engagement initiatives and industry forums.
- Identify community partnership opportunities and assist with the delivery of the sponsorship and donations program.
- Assistance with the coordination and execution of the Santos Festival of Rugby.
- Coordination and delivery of field tours for key stakeholders.
- Identify and facilitate opportunities with businesses in the operating footprint to supply goods or services to Santos.
About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience:
- Demonstrated experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders and ability to apply strategic approach to managing and resolving complex public issues.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in community relations management and a knowledge of the oil and gas industry community related issues.
- Advanced interpersonal, public speaking, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised, multi-task and take on additional responsibilities, as required.
- Experience with commercial and legal frameworks in a corporate environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite and Adobe applications.
- Ability to travel for work requirements on occasion.
- Tertiary qualifications in public affairs, business management, communications or similar will be highly regarded.
