Job Summary

The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and optimizing plant operations from the control room to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. The role involves real-time monitoring of equipment, responding to alarms, coordinating with field operators, and maintaining operational logs in compliance with company procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor plant processes, systems, and equipment through control systems (DCS/SCADA).
  • Respond promptly to alarms, abnormal conditions, and emergency situations.
  • Coordinate with field operators to execute operational instructions and troubleshoot issues.
  • Start up, shut down, and adjust process parameters in line with operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, shift handover reports, and incident records.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance teams, and other departments.
  • Support routine testing, maintenance activities, and plant optimization initiatives.

Job Requirement

  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of OND/HND or equivalent in engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • 3–7 years’ experience as a Control Room Operator in an industrial or process plant environment.

  • Strong knowledge of process operations and control systems (DCS/SCADA).

  • Good understanding of safety systems, alarms, and emergency response procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.

  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Computer literacy and ability to interpret process data
