Airswift is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Onshore/ Offshore) to work on an outsourced contract in Rio de Janeiro with a major Oil & Gas Operator.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support scoping and following up studies in mechanical discipline and maturation of mechanical deliveries as required.

– Follow-up Contractor(s) to ensure deliverables in line with scope of work, budget, and schedule

– Provide Contractor(s) with input, clarifications and maintain contact as necessary.

– Contribute to internal project evaluations and documentation e.g. functional specifications, technology assessments and qualification programs.

– Develop with contractor package specifications and provide input to procurement activities within own discipline e.g. equipment packages, long lead items and company provided items (CPI).

– Contribute to planning and executing mechanical packages follow-up activities. In particular, in execution phase, establish and follow up contractor’s verification of equipment packages, as relevant.

– Ensure necessary dialogue with interfacing disciplines and contribute to resolving interface issues.

– Within own discipline, drive engineering efficiency, secure safety in design, design-to-cost and constructability.

– During execution, support and take responsibility for decisions within own mechanical packages, f.ex. inter disciplinary input, handling of site queries (SQs), technical queries (TQs) and variation order requests (VORs).

– Manage relevant change proposals and requests to depart from a requirement in technical requirements, non-conformance requests (NCRs).

– Follow up delivery of life cycle information (LCI) within discipline.

– Ensure experience transfer from similar projects, operations and discipline network.

– Participation in inspection activities related to mechanical equipment under manufacture in Brazil (pressure vessels, plate heat exchangers, pumps, skids, etc.).

– Act as Equinor representative in the activities at the supplier facilities, following up Hydrostatic Testing, Performance, Dimensional, Final Inspections, expediting during manufacturing, etc.

– Verification of Material Traceability Certifications and instruments certifications used in the tests.

– Issuance of inspection report on each visit carried out.

– Identification of impacts during equipment manufacture, whether of quality or eventual delay in the equipment manufacture, based on the official schedule.

– Act as a safety inspector in subcontractors, identifying potential risks to the health of workers during the manufacture of equipment.

– Weekly report to engineering management including the most critical aspects of supply.

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS
– Mechanical engineer with experience in equipment inspection.
– Knowledge of materials (CS, SS, DSS, SDSS, Ti)
– Knowledge in mechanical manufacturing (welding, metal forming, NDTs).
– Knowledge in ASME VIII Div. I, ASMEB31.3, ASME B16.5.
– Interpretation of P&IDs, drawings and experience with line walks.
– Experience in skids construction is a plus.
– Ability to work in groups, but especially to work unsupervised.
– Availability for frequent trips throughout Brazil (SP capital and interior, SC, RS and ES).
