The Knowledge Services (KS) Business unit is a part of the IET Gas Technology Services Division of Baker Hughes. It offers various capabilities and services such as Digital Services, Advanced Engineering, Customer Training, and Consultative Services. The goal of KS is to provide customers with a combination of engineering expertise and advanced technology solutions.
KS has the aim to use Baker Hughes OEM knowledge and digital capabilities to create new value proposition to our customers, supporting them in the achievement of specific KPIs such as efficiency, productivity and emissions reduction and creating commercial reward schemes directly linked to these.

The Technical Proposals Application Engineer is a vital part of the KS Commercial Team, providing technical support throughout the commercial process. They are responsible for creating and managing technical proposals defining scope of work and costs. They also assist the commercial and sales organization throughout the deal negotiation.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating closely with the commercial manager and sales team during deals negotiation, focusing on the technical scope preparation.
- Analyzing technical specifications for tenders and Requests for Quotations, evaluating Scope of Supply and Risk Factors
- Defining and prepare comprehensive Scope of Work, optimizing products/units, digital training, advanced engineering, schedule, industrial scheme, and performance calculations.
- Developing and manage the cost control of all offered services.
- Identifying and mitigate technical implementation risks, ensuring effective management of technical risk.
- Engaging relevant functions to address deviations and specific requests, optimizing proposal generation.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of ITO processes and tools alongside KS/Services counterparts.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a bachelor in technical field from an accredited college or university (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Background preferred)
- Have familiarity or interest in Oil & Gas Rotating Equipment and their main principles (Gas Turbines, Centrifugal/Reciprocating Compressors, Steam Turbines, etc…)
- Have desire to be part of a global organization and play and work in the Energy Transition Space
- Be able to communicate both written and spoken fluently in English
- Be able to travel with short notice, if required
- Have excellent multitasking and time management skills.
- Be a team player dedicated to the company’s success.
- Have excellent communication and coordination abilities.
