Engineering Officer of the Watch DP

As the Engineering Officer of the Watch DP, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and overseeing the dynamic positioning system on board our clients advanced drillship. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and functionality of all engineering systems, with a primary focus on the dynamic positioning system to support safe and efficient drilling operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor the dynamic positioning system to maintain the drillship’s position and heading during drilling activities.

Conduct routine checks and inspections of all engineering systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.

Collaborate with the drilling and marine teams to coordinate activities and respond effectively to any dynamic positioning challenges.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the dynamic positioning system, propulsion, power management, and other engineering systems.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards at all times.

Train and mentor junior engineering staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in dynamic positioning operations.

Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, including equipment status, maintenance, and operational logs.

Qualifications:

Valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) Certificate of Competency.

DP Operator Certificate (unlimited) is essential.

Extensive experience in operating and maintaining dynamic positioning systems on modern drillships.

Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues related to marine engineering systems.

Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Familiarity with drillship equipment and technology is highly desirable.
