Head Commissioning – Power Generation – RT0037 | Ably Resources LTD

We are supporting a major client with the appointment of an experienced Commissioning Manager / Head of Commissioning to lead the safe and successful delivery of commissioning, start-up and handover activities across a major project in power generation.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams and ensuring assets are fully prepared for safe, reliable and sustainable operations.

Key responsibilities:
• Lead commissioning, operational readiness, start-up and handover activities
• Manage Lead and Senior Commissioning Engineers, discipline engineers and technicians
• Establish safe, consistent and effective commissioning practices
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations and project stakeholders
• Oversee system completion, testing, documentation and final acceptance
• Ensure facilities are operationally ready before being transferred to the asset team
• Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental performance

Candidate requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 15 years’ experience across operations, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up
• Strong experience within power generation or complex process facilities
• Exposure to both onshore and/or offshore environments
• At least 8 years’ experience in commissioning leadership or management positions
• Previous experience working in the Arabian Gulf is preferred
• Professional engineering or project management membership would be advantageous
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Able to lead complex activities and make sound decisions under pressure
