Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people.  We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Lead Electrical within our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management, and could be based in multiple locations in Texas.

Essential Job Duties:
The Electrical Team Lead is responsible for operation and construction of electrical infrastructure supporting Oxy’s field based operations; including maintenance, construction, repair, and daily operations from purchase power locations through end use points. It also provides new electrical technology solutions that encompass the entire Oxy organization to help make the electrical teams more effective and efficient while also providing benefits to other teams within the organization.

Main roles and responsibilities include:
• Assist in setting goals and long term vision with Electrical Team Leader or equivalent
• Aligns Surface Employees with goals, standards, surface operational strategies, best practices and ensures execution
• Interfaces between support functions and Reservoir Team Leads to establish and manage boundaries
• Creates an environment where members of the team make the day-to-day decisions while providing the tools, training, and support needed to make those decisions.
• Deliver on production, surface costs, safety & environmental targets for Asset Team
• Ensure execution of business plan
• Coach and mentor team members, assist with performance management and career development through rotational assignments, projects, and training
• Accountability for Electrical equipment condition
• Provide a customer support mentality for Electrical Maintenance team
• Consult Asset teams on Electrical technology availability and cost savings
• Ensure that Electrical Goals are aligned with Asset teams for their area
• Ensure adequate technical expertise to support Asset Teams
• Manage Electrical truck fleet of Direct reports
• Responsible for hiring and onboarding of new employees
• Ensure compliance of predictive and preventive maintenance programs
• Ensure development of reliability and maintenance programs including identification of equipment criticality in association with Surface OTL.
• Execution of TTM requirements

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications 

• High School diploma, GED
• Preferred Electrical License or at least 7 years of proven work experience in electrical distribution and facility operations
• Knowledgeable of electrical safety requirements as found in publications such as NFPA 70E
• Knowledge of Arc Flash Hazards
• Knowledgeable in power engineering, distribution system design and construction, engineering economics and statistics, feasibility and power factor correction studies, load flow and motor starting studies, system reliability analysis, symmetrical components, voltage regulation, transformer sizing and analysis and over-current coordination principals and sectionalizing devices to include relays, breakers, sectionalizers, reclosers, and fuses, transmission system protection and control, substation design and construction principles, and NEC,NESC and OSHA standards
• Basic experience with managing oil and gas development projects
• Valued contributor to business analysis and planning at all levels
• Strong communication skills (verbal/written/listening/presentation)
• Problem solving skills with ability to analyze and recommend solutions on problems of high complexity
• Understanding of Surface Operational Strategies of Reliability Maintenance & Mechanical Efficiency Factor
• General knowledge of Surface Team, Reservoir Team, Downhole Team, Risk / AI team, IT and HES
• Visionary for process improvement and development of new technologies
• Ability to complete staffing plans to ensure adequate staffing levels to support the business plan, to develop team professional and technical skills though coaching, feedback, training and development
• Knowledgeable in managing budget
• Ability to work in a collaborative manner with multiple customers
