Lead Mechanic

Malta

Our client is a busy organisation engaged in repair and overhaul of ships and large yachts in European shipyards

Due to ongoing project awards, a Lead Tradesman is required to supervise a team of Mechanical Fitters, primarily in Malta but also with regular rotation to France.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Operations Manager to identify the best technical solution for clients
• Supervise the team of mechanical fitters whilst recording project hours against specific project
• Assist with material take-offs, requisitions and basic planning schedules
• Support with team performance reviews
• Undertake project planning to ensure personnel, materials, facilities, tooling etc are utilised efficiently
• Act as a confident point of contact for clients, personnel and management
• Ensure the safe upkeep of tools
• Ensure HSE procedures are complied with

Talent will:

• Be an experienced Mechanical Fitter with team leading experience
• Demonstrate extensive experience working within shipyards
• Be comfortable basing themselves from Malta and travelling regularly
• Have fluent written and verbal English language skills with Italian and/or French ability
