Manufacturing Engineer

Executes tactical manufacturing engineering responsibilities with a strong focus on delivery, demonstrating expertise in engineering systems, tools, and materials; supports continuous improvement across products, processes, and procedures; implements standardized and frequently updated manufacturing processes; effectively exchanges technical data and insights with stakeholders; and leads a small manufacturing unit or a component of a larger operation with a budget exceeding $1.5 million, while maintaining high energy and a change‑driven mindset.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Documentation Generation- Interoperate Engineering designs to create manufacturing procedures for the build and test of products. Implement lean practices to reduce waste from the build process with a view to ultimately reduce product lead time and cost.
  • Creation of Documentation Packages- Sourcing and printing of all required documents for jobs soon commencing, and compilation into document packages for use in workshop. Monitoring of packets currently in circulation and updating documents within packets in case of revision / changes required. Drive towards digitising all documentation packages on site.
  • Routing -Creation of master routings for new P/Ns, including all required instruction and detail, with hours estimations based off of previous performance of similar operations. Alteration of routings on active work orders where required, for deviation of scope to other work orders or where change of scope is needed. Notification to PC to be made if any OSP OPs are added for POs to be raised against. Routing of NSWOs where required for multiple reasons, including repeat NSWOs and for rework. 
  • Tracking-Hours booked to jobs monitored to ensure no issues arising, communicating with department lead hand to ensure correct booking. Based off of findings, changes to be made to allocated hours where needed, with end goal of reducing the direct hours taken to complete jobs. 
  • Improvements -Frequent discussion with colleagues to find possible improvements in processes or systems and implementing these changes within reasonable time. Where improvements are to be used as CI projects, these are to be properly documented and recorded. 
  • Support -Providing general support to MEs where able to and available (printing documentation packages, providing information, etc.). Completion of work for other departments, eg. OSP Machining Routings.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with strong experience in Manufacturing).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.
