Job Description:
Our client, a global leader in controlled environments and safety technologies, is seeking to appoint an Operations Manager to join their team. The successful person will oversee daily operations across five key departments and lead a team of over 10 employees. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and efficiency, while also implementing long-term growth strategies. Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and a results-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage teams across manufacturing, production, logistics, warehousing, and inventory.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational policies and procedures.
- Create and execute the annual Operations business plan, including strategic direction and budget management.
- Oversee production schedules to ensure deadlines and manufacturing timelines are met.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure material and resource availability.
- Support the development and manufacture of new R&D products and maintain product documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and promote a culture of safety.
- Organise and lead regular internal production and toolbox/safety meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external contractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with international manufacturing teams and stakeholders.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, performance reviews, and goal setting.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on production metrics, including productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in a management or leadership role.
- Proven track record in driving operational excellence within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop business plans.
- Capable of balancing hands-on involvement with effective delegation.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
- High attention to detail, with strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
- Forward-thinking, with a visionary mindset and a proactive, can-do attitude.
