Role: Production Technologist [Full – Time].

Role Summary:

The Production Technologist is responsible for the design and implementation of well completions/ subsurface production facilities which are needed to produce the wells. The Production Technologist is also responsible for overseeing the daily operation of wells, including constant monitoring of well performance, planning and supervising workover operations to maximize recovery in addition to optimizing artificial-lift and conduit flow systems. The Production Technologist is an integral member of the Area Asset Team and works in a collaborative environment.

 

The role’s responsibility will span as follows:

  • Candidate must be experienced and have skills in different wells operations/services, production and Petroleum Engineering studies / reviews.
  • Candidate must have a good understanding of wells, reservoir, and production measurements, well problem analysis / optimization, operations and surface facilities.
  • Candidate must be able to analyze well data, plan for acquisition and manage the entire well life cycle.
  • Candidate must have a good understanding of HSE and integrity issues.
  • Candidate must be able to supervise drilling, workover, well interventions and participate in production optimization efforts.
  • Candidate must build good networking with field operations, well services, well engineering, other petroleum engineering disciplines and team members.
  • Candidate must be able to mentor and coach new staff and take on additional responsibilities as required.
  • Candidate must be knowledgeable in the application of all PT software.
  • Candidate must be an expert in evaluation of inflow performance, multiphase flow in wells, tubulars and facilities, phase behavior of hydrocarbons. Rock mechanics – in situ stress determination, borehole stability, sand failure prediction, fracturing, etc. Chemistry – stimulation, corrosion, wax, scale, bacteria, completion/drilling fluids, dehydration, cement. Computing applications, artificial lift methods, perforating techniques, sand exclusion methods/techniques, well completion design, cased hole log evaluation, well integrity, water/gas injection, etc. Integrated reviews, economics, safety/environmental, risk management, communication, negotiation and business skills.

Qualifications:

  • As a Production Technologist, incumbent must have a good understanding of other E&P disciplines and skills in all key Production Technologist specialties.
  • A university degree in Engineering or equivalent with 3 – 5 years relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years PT work experience in an operating company.
