Project Civil Engineer (In-House) – Amaiden Energy Nigeria Ltd

MAIN FUNCTIONS
Manage and supervise civil engineering works for Facilities Management and Administration projects, covering project scope development, technical documentation, construction supervision, quality control, contractor management, and project close-out.

TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and review civil engineering scopes, specifications, BOQs, drawings, and technical documents.
• Review contractor and consultant drawings and ensure compliance with project requirements and Company standards.
• Supervise civil construction works and monitor quality, progress, and workmanship.
• Identify defects and non-conformances and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, user departments, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Conduct weekly project meetings and prepare minutes, action trackers, and progress reports.
• Monitor project constraints, quality issues, HSE matters, and schedule risks.
• Review approved-for-construction drawings and respond to technical queries.
• Maintain project documentation, inspection records, technical reports, and handover documentation.
• Act as site operating authority and ensure compliance with construction HSE requirements.
• Support timely and quality delivery of civil works across assigned projects.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• B.Eng. in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, engineering consultancy, or project delivery.
• Oil & Gas experience is required/preferred, particularly in project engineering, construction, or facilities projects.
• Professional certification/membership such as COREN, NSE, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Proven experience in civil construction supervision and contractor management.
• Experience preparing BOQs, specifications, scopes of work, progress reports, and project documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction standards, quality control, drawings, and site execution.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements and contractor compliance monitoring.
• Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple site activities with minimal supervision.
